Your Dedicated Guide in Japan — Akiho

I’m Akiho, the representative of ANCHOR PLANNING and a licensed national guide-interpreter.
Born in Tokyo and raised in New York, I now live in Hayama, a charming seaside town about an hour south of Tokyo. I have worked in the tourism industry for over 10 years, and I served as the exclusive guide for the British Sailing Team from 2017 through the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. Following that, and the end of the pandemic, I then started my career as an English guide for international guests as my daughters were grown. Now, with the support and understanding of my family, I offer full support including guiding, itinerary planning, and travel arrangements.

What I love most about this job is rediscovering Japan’s beauty through travelers’ eyes — sharing their excitement and seeing familiar places in new ways. And of course, meeting wonderful people from around the world while being right here in Japan is incredibly rewarding.
