The Best of Tokyo in One Day – A Special Honeymoon Tour
Today, I had the pleasure of guiding a newlywed couple from the United States on a tour featuring some of the very best experiences Tokyo has to offer.
We started the day at Tsukiji, where we enjoyed strolling through the market and sampling a variety of local treats. Fresh tuna, crispy octopus rice crackers, and strawberry sweets were among the highlights of our food adventure. Also, had a chance to experience simple matcha tea making activity.
After that, we headed to Kappabashi, Tokyo’s famous kitchenware district, in search of Japanese knives. Since they also wanted gifts for family members back home, they purchased three knives in total, each engraved with a name. As they often cook fish back home, knives were carefully selected based on sharpness, ease of use, and simple maintenance.
From Kappabashi, we took a leisurely walk to Asakusa. After enjoying some yakisoba from a street stall, we boarded a train to Tokyo Skytree. The panoramic view from the observation deck gave a fantastic look at the vast city stretching in every direction. And because it was 5th of May, Skytree town was decorated with many carp flags, celebrating the children’s day!
Final attraction was a traditional yakatabune boat for a dinner cruise on the Sumida River. It’s a nice cruise to admire Tokyo’s illuminated skyline from the water, while enjoying freshly prepared tempura. I hope the beautiful night views of Tokyo seen from the river will remain one of the unforgettable memories of their honeymoon.
Thank you for spending the day with me, and I hope to welcome you back to Tokyo again someday!
